Zana Tomich
Zana Tomich is a seasoned attorney based in Detroit with over two decades of experience advising businesses and nonprofit organizations. She currently serves as outside general counsel to a portfolio of small to midsize companies, with an emphasis on clients in banking and financial services, as well as nonprofit and faith-based organizations.
Zana brings a blend of legal acumen and business insight shaped by her early immersion in her family’s restaurant business and honed through years of hands-on legal practice. Her approach is pragmatic, responsive, and attuned to the operational realities of her clients.
Zana has played a pivotal role in helping to grow Dalton & Tomich’s advisory service offerings. In her work serving as fractional general counsel for clients, Zana provides strategic legal counsel on a wide range of business matters, including:
- Organizational governance and entity structuring
- Employment practices including policy drafting, employee contracts, hiring, and employee benefits
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Debt and equity financing transactions
- Commercial contract negotiation, including vendor, lease, and service agreements
- Regulatory compliance, particularly in the financial services sector
- Succession planning and business exits
Additionally, Zana has advised financial institutions on collection matters, lending and documentation and compliance with banking regulations.

She is actively engaged in the legal and business communities, serving on the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Committee, the ICLE Labor & Employment Law Advisory Council, and the Village of Beverly Hills Zoning Board of Appeals. She is also a member of the ABA Business Law Section and a proud alumna of Leadership Detroit XXXII. She is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Illinois.
Zana lives in Beverly Hills, Michigan with her husband and two daughters.

- Accomplished complex merger of two Unitarian churches.
- Serves as outside General Counsel to a company specializing in e-commerce website with $10 Million annual revenues.
- Serves as local counsel to several California denominational credit unions, achieving workouts of sensitive loans to churches.
