All of us have had significant milestones in our careers. Three years ago today, Zana Tomich and I took the step of starting a new law firm, birthed out of a prior law partnership, and opened an office in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. We opened the firm with the goal to create a world class law firm dedicated to providing the highest quality, ethical and timely legal advice to religious organizations, financial institutions and businesses throughout the United States. To meet this goal, we implemented the following guiding beliefs for all of the members, attorneys and staff of Dalton & Tomich plc to follow:
-
We will act with integrity and provide honest, timely and ethical legal advice to clients.
-
We will treat each other with respect and place no unreasonable demands on one another.
-
We will attract, develop and retain top talent and grow when required by the needs of our clients.
-
We will tithe our profits and devote substantial resources to volunteer activities.
I am grateful to the clients, team members and our families who have helped us meet and exceed our goals. Through our dedicated team at Dalton & Tomich plc, we have worked with clients from California to New York in navigating through with land use, banking and business needs. I believe that our strength remains in remaining true to our guiding beliefs and we believe that we will continue to grow in the future.
So what does the future hold for Dalton & Tomich plc?
In the short term, we will be moving closer to our clients and will be the first law firm in nearly three decades who is moving into the City of Detroit from Bloomfield Hills. Our new home in the Chrysler House located at Fort and Griswold Streets in currently being built out and we should be into our office in November. We are very excited about this move and look forward to being a part of the re-birth of Detroit.
In the long term, we will continue to serve our clients by rededicating our practice to the land use, banking and business world and we plan on growing that business within Michigan through the rest of our careers. We will continue serving the community in leadership roles for nonprofits as well as in government. And we will continue to adhere to our guiding principles.
It was once said that when ordinary people rise above the expectations and seize the opportunity that milestones truly are reached. We have exceeded our own expectations and achieved this milestone anniversary. And for this achievement, we celebrate. I personally want to thank each and every person who has supported us during these past three years, and the decade before that, by being a part of our law firm. I also want to thank our families who have stood with us and our staff who has become another family to us. We could not have done this without you. We look forward to serving our clients for many more years to come and to work with our dedicated team in our new home in Detroit.
