Religious Land Use Litigation Since 2000
The program discusses and analyzes legal principles and issues related to litigating religious land use cases. The presenters will discuss the state of the law on this issue, including key issues that arise under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (“RLUIPA”), state Religious Freedom Restoration Acts and the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. The program will also provide litigation strategies for bringing or defending such actions. The presenters will also provide a PowerPoint setting forth the legal principles, analysis, and key issues, as well as resources for further reading, which are included in Mr. Dalton’s book, referenced above.
