Closing Churches: the broken promise of the UMC Bishop’s with the Separation Protocol

The much heralded Separation Protocol proposed by the five affinity groups of the United Methodist Church contained two promises: one promise was the there would be a hold on church trials and charges related to Bishops and Clergy who violated the Book of Discipline. The other was that Bishop’s agreed not to close local churches and sell their property prior to the adoption (or rejection) of the Separation Protocol of the United Methodist Church. Have the Bishop’s adhered to their promises?  Unfortunately, no. Watch this video to learn more.

If your local church is being forced to close by your Bishop or annual conference, please contact Daniel Dalton to learn how to navigate through this process to preserve and protect your ministry.
